Thus sayeth Brigham Young, fear shun and exile the apostates

George A. Smith claimed the saints were being unfairly treated for being forced to follow the laws of the United States of America like everyone else.

Brigham Young laid out the law as to how members were to treat apostates and those who speak out against the Church, and it was not kind. At one point in the talk Young even insinuated the faithful members should enact violence against apostates.

Elder Jeffrey R. Holland urged BYU to take the scriptures in one hand and a musket in the other in support of traditional marriage, or in other words, to use religion and the threat of violence to stop same sex marriage.
