William Rowland, who goes by Bill, is a retired computer programmer and an accomplished musician. Bill has been playing the piano since he was three years old and has been writing music since he was fifteen and he has always been passionate about ragtime. Two of Bill’s songs have won the prestigious Rag Composition Contest at the Scott Joplin International Ragtime Festival in Sedalia, Mo (in 1975 and again in 1999). Many of Bill’s songs have been published and performed around the world and in 2006 he released a CD called “30 Years of Ragtime.”

Bill also writes choral music, and even had some of his songs published by The United Methodist Publishing House, including In His Own Sweet Time, Jesus Is As Good As It Gets, A Quiet Place With God, and Can't Stop Praising His Name. Bill has worked as a piano tuner/technician since 1974, and has had a passion for the silent theatre and organ music and plays the score for many of the silent movies in his area.

Bill was raised in Southwest Missouri and now lives in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma with his wife Linda and spends as much time as possible with his three daughters, his sons in-law and his grandsons. Bill has also been involved in the Kairos Prison Ministry for over twenty years, and that is the subject of this episode.
